Tiktok As a Microlearning Platform For Improving Vocabulary Mastery and Student Engagement at MAN 1 Soppeng
Abstract
The develoipment oif diigiital technoiloigy encoiurages the use oif moire iinnoivatiive and iinteractiive learniing mediia iin Engliish language learniing. Hoiwever, voicabulary mastery and student iinvoilvement iin learniing are stiill relatiively loiw, especiially iin grade XIi soiciial studiies students at MAN 1 Soippeng. Thiis study aiims toi determiine the effectiiveness oif usiing TiikToik as a miicroilearniing platfoirm iin iimproiviing students' voicabulary mastery and student engagement. Thiis study uses a quantiitatiive methoid wiith a pre-experiimental desiign throiugh oine groiup pre-test and poist-test desiign. The research sample coinsiisted oif twoi classes XIi Soiciial Studiies at MAN 1 Soippeng whiich were selected usiing purpoisiive sampliing techniiques. The research iinstruments are iin the foirm oif voicabulary tests and questiioinnaiires. The data was analyzed usiing mean scoire, paiired sample t-test, and percentage. The results oif the study are expected toi shoiw that the use oif TiikToik as a miicroilearniing platfoirm iis able toi iincrease students' voicabulary mastery and student engagement iin Engliish learniing. Thiis research iis expected toi be a reference foir teachers iin utiiliiziing soiciial mediia as an iinnoivatiive and effectiive learniing mediium.
