Analysis of the Linguistic Development of Students from Broken Home Families at MI Darussalam Bumi Agung
Abstract
This study examines the impact of broken home families on the behavior and linguistic development of students at MI Darussalam Bumi Agung. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation during field research conducted in February 2026. The participants included a fourth-grade student identified as M, who came from a broken home family, the student's guardian (A), and the classroom teacher (N). The findings revealed that student M experienced delays in linguistic development, including difficulties in reading, speaking, storytelling, and low self-confidence, compared with other students. These challenges were closely associated with limited parental attention, as the student was raised by a single father who worked full-time. The study also highlights the significant influence of family conditions and the social environment on children's language development. Therefore, early intervention involving parents, teachers, and the wider community is essential to provide appropriate language stimulation. This study offers valuable insights into understanding the effects of broken home families on the linguistic development of elementary school students.
