The Effect of the Use of Three-Dimensional (3d) Animation Learning Media on the Learning Outcomes of Students of MTsN 2 Kediri Optical Materials

Abstract

Optical learning in high school often faces challenges in capturing students' attention, even though visual media such as video has been used to support the understanding of abstract concepts. However, there is a gap between multimedia learning theory that emphasizes interactive animation and practice in the field, where conventional videos at MTsN 2 Kediri only produce an average of 69 repetitions (below KKM 75), showing a lack of appeal and effectiveness. This study aims to test the influence of 3D animation learning media on their students' learning outcomes on optical materials. Using a quasi-experimental design with purposive sampling, samples were taken from two classes (experimental and control). The instruments included a multiple-choice test and a response questionnaire. The results showed an average experimental class of 76.7 and a control of 53.9, with the Independent Samples T-Test (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05) proving a significant influence. The response of students reached 83.15%, indicating high acceptance. It was concluded that 3D animation was effective in improving the learning outcomes of optical students at MTsN 2 Kediri.
