The Influence of Quillbot Towards Students’ Writing Skills at Third Semester of English Students at University of Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai

Abstract


The influence of Quillbot towards students’ writing skill at third semester of english students at university of pahlawan tuanku tambusai. This study aims to determine the influence of using Quillbot on the writing skills of 3rd semester students of english language study program at university of pahlawan tuanku tambusai. Quillbot is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based tool that is used to help users in pharaprasing, correcting grammar, and improving the quality of writing. In this study, the researcher want to see what extent Quillbot can help students improve their writing skills in english. The method used in this study was quantitative with a pre-experimental design (one group pretest and posttest design). The researcher sample consisted of 31 students from the third semester. The results showed that there was increase in students’ writing scores pretest (69,48) and (80,09) in the posttest (<0,05) by analyzing the data using the wilcoxon signed-rank test, which means Quillbot has an impact on students’ writing skills.
